Friday's Feast

Appetizer
What was your first “real” job?
My first real job was working in a bank, I started there when I was 19. I really loved it, but the long hours weren't conducive to being a mom, so when Rox was 6 months old I left to work somewhere with better hours.

Soup
Where would you go if you wanted to spark your creativity?
To an art gallery - I think there is a very creative atmosphere in an art gallery.

Salad
Complete this sentence: I am embarrassed when…
I am embarrassed when I discover I am walking around with a button undone!

Main Course
What values did your parents instill in you?
I learnt all the basics at home: honesty, respect for elders, hardwork pays off etc.

Dessert
Name 3 fads from your teenage years.
  • I was quite into the "early Madonna look" - so I went through the messed up, gelled hair thing
  • Leg warmers were the in thing for a while and I confess I had a pair (hee, hee)
  • Neon - I remember wearing a number of violently neon coloured clothes (this was the 80s people!)

Oh, yeah..the neon colored clothes! I had this violently neon yellow blazer that I wore over a violently neon magenta lace tank top along with matching hair ribbons and socks and multicolored neon pants! LOL! Thanks for the memories, Gill, and for stopping by to dine with me! *smiles*

I agree about the art gallery! What great places! Sometimes I get too overwhelmed with all the amazing talent, though, and leave thinking, "goodness, I could never do paintings/scultures/photographs like that!"

ROFL! Yes... even IN the 80's I was thankful to be an adult and not have to wear the 80's fads! Did you also flip HALF your bangs UP, and the other half DOWN? Oy... I was sO glad when THAT phase went away and my daughter moved on to something else!

I remember your fads, but I was in elementary school. I was all about neon.

I mentioned legwarmers, too, but I never wore any, as I wasn't keen on them. I went through the whole Madonna thing, though. Have a great weekend!

My Friday's Feast is up at Siani's Pot-Pourri.

I forgot about the Madonna and neon look...I totally dug that. I remember wearing BRIGHT yellow, green and blue eyeshadow every day over the summer...and not a picture to find of it!

Neon came from Wham....I remember them wearing a lot of neon, bracelets that were neon....lot of us teens of the eighties out there feasting today.

I also got into neon via Whan circa "Wake me up before you go-go" - also those lovely white tulip skirts on the backing singers that were surprisingly flattering! I also wore like a whole dead cow's worth of leather thongs on my arm like Morten from A-ha

My daughter had leg warmers she wore in dance class. I ran across a couple pair several years back and I wore them to work under my skirts to help keep myself warm while walking from my parking garage to the office building. They really worked. People thought I was nuts, but that's ok. I was warm!!!

Yummy feast!!

I once tried to sell myself as detail-oriented during an interview with a button on my blouse undone...I wonder why I didn't get that job? :)

Yay 80's!

Happy Friday.

I am busy ruminating on an updated bucket list - it's a lot more difficult than one would think!  The last time I created a bucket...
