Of Mojo gone and holidays....

I have to confess that my blogging mojo has gone A.W.O.L - again..... I've been a bad, bad blogger. My life is so full at the moment that blogging seems to have taken a back-seat. This is just a little catch-up post.

We got some bad news yesterday, my father-in-law had a stroke which affected his vision very severely. Details are sketchy right now, but he is seeing a specialist this morning, so we should have a clearer idea of exactly what is going on later today. Very, very worrying... I love my Dad-in-law and hate to think of him suffering....

Impi was home for the weekend, so we got to celebrate his birthday somewhat belatedly. He filled us in on everything that is happening at school and it seems to be go..go..go. Being deputy head-boy and chairman of the RCL (representative council of learners) keeps him enormously busy and then add to that the fact that he is Captain of the swimming and waterpolo teams, trying out for 1st team soccer and in the 1st team rugby squad... I just hope that in-between all of this he gets some academics done!!!

We acquired a new dog on Sunday. It is crazy for us to have yet another pet BUT the people across the road were moving last weekend and they had to re-home Lilo, on the day that they were actually going they had still not found a home for her and taking into account that she is a very sweet girl-dog and she would wag her tail at us every day....... We spent the preceding 10 days thinking with our heads and not our hearts, saying "No, we certainly don't need another dog", but on D-Day we led Lilo across the road to join our menagerie.... She is settling down quite well, she loves us to bits, but has issues with Chloe and Nala (well considering they have spent the last 3 years barking at each other across the road, that's understandable!) and Jax, Zip and her have not yet found any common ground ;-) I'm sure, in time, they will all get along just fine.

And I've saved the best for last: part of what is filling my life is the planning of a very exciting, once in a lifetime, dream come true holiday. (Can you hear that I'm just a little excited? LOL)

You might remember that we had planned a trip which was supposed to happen in May last year, but then with my mum being ill it was cancelled? Well, my (very darling!) Dad has invited us to come with him on a trip to Europe in June/July. We'll be starting with a Trafalgar tour which takes us to: Amsterdam, Rhineland, Innsbruck, Venice, Rome, Florence, Lucerne and Paris. Then we get to spend a few days (unfortunately very few!) with my BFF Lisa and her family in Surrey and we finally have 2 days in London (and oh my gosh am I planning to cram an awful lot into those two days...I feel for my family, truly I do, they are going to have their feet walked off of them!)

So that's what's been happening in my corner of the globe. I will try to be a better blogger this week, but I'm not promising.....

You're coming to London! Your trip sounds totalyl outstanding - please feel free to ask for any tips you might need, especially in Paris, Rome, Venice and of course London.
