Boiler Room Café

Boiler Room Café

It's funny, we have some really lovely restaurants right on our doorstep that we keep meaning to visit, but we never get around to it, and then when we have visitors we seem to hit a whole bunch of them in the space of a week.  Such was the case with Boiler Room Cafe.  I have been wanting to try it since it opened, we've spoken about it a number of times and even driven past it, but it wasn't until my "sister from another mother" Lisa was here a couple of weeks ago that we finally popped in for breakfast.

Boiler Room Cafe is located in the former Lion Match factory office park and serves as a coffee shop/canteen for those working in the office park, as well as the public at large, who need simply to mention to the guard at the gate that they will be visiting the restaurant and ask to be pointed in the right direction.

The restaurant is an airy, open space, with funky, African-chic décor, a quirky mural covers one wall.

We were there for breakfast, on a weekday, there were some fantastic choices on the menu and we were all very satisfied with our meals.  I gather on Saturdays they offer extra brunch choices.

Service was friendly and efficient and there is a nice little grassy area just outside the restaurant, which was perfect for Isabella to burn off some energy, so all our boxes were happily ticked.  We'll definitely be visiting the Boiler Room Café again and this time we won't wait for visitors to give us the excuse to do so!
